Kurzfassung deutsch:
The purpose of this study is to discuss the concept of using a Smartphone application GPS based (e.g. an Android application) to prove that an organisation responsible for road maintenance fulfilled their duties (any kind of road maintenance such as Signs, Signals & Striping, and Potholes/Asphalt Breaking Up). In case of a legal issue against the Road Maintenance Company, they can show recorded data of their operations to the courtroom. The positioning capabilities will be used to obtain the tracks, which are then stored in a suitable database such as PostGIS. Apart from the purely technical implementation, the study also discusses issues like availability of data and accuracy for urban area. It shows how such a system can be implemented.
