Abstract
Today´s technology enables early warning, prevention and rescue operations, like environmental protection, disaster management, and consequently more security for the people. This requires spatial analyses and decisions, which could not be achieved without cartographic visualisations of spatial and task-oriented as well as temporal information. This article presents a concept for knowledge-based decision process by means of actual and accurate spatial data bases and relevant cartographic models.
