"Emotional landmarks as an alternative view of way finding in ubiquitous cartography";
Wiener Schriften zur Geographie und Kartographie, 17 (2006), 115 - 123.

English abstract:
In this submission various methods of identifying emotional responses to spatial objects or areas are discussed. Further on the hypothesis is analysed, that the emotional relation and the degree of emotional response is structuring space and is used for human wayfinding (e.g. an area, where the car has been stolen, becomes an emotional landmark). Finally possible measures for linking explicit links between personīs memory/ experience/ emotional response with the physical environment are investigated and possible applications for navigation systems are discussed.
