the state of the art of current systems and the main areas of research, especially the impact on GeoCommunication. Selected results of experiences in terms of fundamental research (potential of cartographic presentations forms), in positioning (active landmarks), modeling and visualization (guiding and navigation for pedestrians) are given and are brought into the context of GeoCommunication. Telecartography is a specific type of cybercartography.
