English abstract:
Many applications based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology have been developed in the last year to help track the contact of persons with COVID-19. Applications are based on how two people are in close proximity in accordance with the distance measured from the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI). The paper is a more detailed study based on different types of smartphones as well as analyzing the various factors that affect the value of the signal, i.e., the RSSI recordings. The results of the analyses show that several factors significantly affect the signal quality. Although Bluetooth technology turned out to be quite useful it is not always straightforward to convert Bluetooth RSSI measurements into distances between mobile devices.
