"Wi-Fi Positioning for Ubiquitous PNT in Challenging Urban, Transitional and Indoor Environments";
Talk: Free seminar: How to make WiFi reliant apps work in challenging urban environments, Wollongong, Australia (invited); 2020-02-10.

English abstract:
This talk will look at how to make PNT (Positioning, Navigation and Timing) applications that require GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) signals work in challenging urban, transitional and indoor environments.
Dr Guenther Retscher will discuss how to deliver robust localization solutions in these environments and why these signals are usually referred to as signals-of-opportunity. For the most prominent signal-of-opportunity, such as Wireless Fidelity (WiFi), novel approaches using location fingerprinting are introduced and discussed.
The presentation will look at case studies where the potential of these technologies and techniques are demonstrated, including research from TU Wien - Vienna University of Technology.
