English abstract:
As part of a case study there should be examined whether a chimney in the Arena Wien has to be monitored and if so, how this could be done . First, it was estimated which forces burden the chimney and how they affect its shape and position. By analyzing existing data there should be determined whether deformations have already occurred and how big they are. Due to the lack of information about the accuracy and registration of the existing data the need for measuring additional data arose. For this purpose the measurement of a reference network by total station and a precision leveling were planned and carried out in three different eras. Thereby laser scanning point clouds of the chimney were created as additional information. The evaluation of the leveling and the adjustment of the network measurements with subsequent deformation analysis have shown that movements in the range of a few mm to the northwest are present. In addition, elevation changes were detected. The analysis of the point clouds resulted in a similar outcome. Finally, on the basis of the finite element method it was shown, what options there are available to model the chimney and how the geometry contained in the point clouds of the chimney can be involved. By evaluation of the measurements and the results recommendations for the further monitoring of the chimney could be given.
