English abstract:
The paper describes the importance of the European Area of Higher Education Qualifications Framework (EHEA QF) and European Qualifications Framework (EQF) in a National Qualifications Framework (NQF) development and implementation and highlights the role of the NQF in the development of sustainable academic curricula. The Serbian QF is analysed from an internal and external point of view and steps for future development are proposed. The paper points out the importance of a NQF for employment policy, labour mobility, and qualification recognition beyond the national area. The work focuses on the importance of the existence of a comparable and transparent qualifications framework to facilitate the higher education reform towards the EU policy and stakeholder's needs.
