English abstract:
Technological advance in mobile devices and mobile communication has triggered a move towards Location Based Services (LBS). The cartography department of Vienna University of Technology has been interested in this field from the early stages, and has implemented various interdisciplinary projects on different aspects of LBS, such as modelling, adaptation, and (cartographic) communication. This talk will report a selection of findings and results from our recent projects on these aspects, mainly in the context of mobile pedestrian navigation.
