"Entwicklung eines Monitoringsystems für Deformationsmessungen unter MATLAB";

English abstract:
Geodetic Monitoring is applied to detect deformations of natural and / or artificial objects (buildings,
hillsides, ..) and their surroundings. Deformations can have many causes and are, as long
as they do not exceed a certain magnitude, even harmless. However, a threshold is reached, the
professionals involved have to be alarmed to take further measures.
The determining of the threshold values can take place only in cooperation with experts from
other disciplines, and also the initiation of appropriate measures are not usually assumed by a
geodesist.
For geodetic monitoring tasks, there already exist several proprietary software solutions. These
programs control the sensors and store the collected data. Most vendors also provide (simple)
evaluation- and analysis features.
The data evaluation and analysis is largely restricted to the provided software features.
But especially in the scientific data evaluation and analysis it is necessary to access the data
acquired as flexible as possible, to apply more significant analysis algorithms on them.
As part of this diploma thesis, a program is developed that ensures the data registration with
an instrument of the Leica TPS1200 series and their storage in a Microsoft SQL Server 2005
database. This program is developed in Matlab. The use of Matlab allows access to the extensive
and efficient mathematical functions of this development environment.
This program, MatlabMonitor, forms a basement for further diploma- respectively bachelor- or
masterthesis, where more significant data evaluation and analysis algorithms can be tested and
implemented in the MatlabMonitor.
