English abstract:
The development of pedestrian navigation and guidance services are challenging research topics and have been investigated by several researchers worldwide. Most of the developed systems thereby rely on the use of satellite positioning (GNSS), sometimes also in combination with other sensors and positioning methods. In our approach in the project UCPNAVI (Ubiquitous Carthograpy for Pedestrian Navigation) active RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) in combination with GNSS and INS (Inertial Navigation Systems) are employed for positioning. RFID can be employed in areas where no satellite positioning is possible due to obstructions, e.g. in urban canyons and indoor environments. This paper presents our approach for positioning of a pedestrian by using RFID.
