English abstract:
Engineering geodesy has undergone significant changes in recent years. Most obvious is the transition from analog to digital operating modes. Automation of surveying instruments is indeed in high demand. The automation in the area of tacheometer measurement systems has began
years ago with automatic target recognition (ATR) and tracking features. Image processing has become a powerful tool of science and industry and is therefore an ideal enhancement for traditional tacheometers. The vision for the next year is to replace/assist the measurement expert in a best way. We report on the state of the art of such image-based measurement systems
their functionality and development stage.
